Jan van
Bijnen started his career as guitar player in numerous rock-, jazz-, (alt.)country-
and
bluesbands. He does like crossovering styles and plays a wide variety of
instruments from the
guitar-a-like mandolin or dobro to an incidental trumpet.
He plays all around the country (and some German and U.S.dates, too!)
with Markowski,
an award winning 'rootsy pop with country flavor'-band surrounding
singer/songwriter Sonja Markowski.
Already
studying at the Rotterdam Conservatory, he played a three year
touring gig playing both guitar and piano (and sing as
well),
for famous Dutch comedian Paul Haenen.
He played the Prinses Theater Dinner Show Rotterdam for a year
and in musical
Assassins at traveling theaterfestival De Parade 2003.
Jan van
Bijnen is frontman of Lazy J et son Orchestre. He plays guitar
and sings with
coverband Men's Best Friend and vocal group Sentimental
Journey.
He works with percussionist Ernesto Arrendell at multimedia-theatershows
Ocean Dream, Watermusic and DoodStil and as a
freelance multi-instrumentalist on stage and the
recording studio.
On top of
that Jan teaches electric guitar and bandskills at the
Gemeentelijke Muziekschool Krimpen aan den IJssel.
